Fractured

Map of the United States overlaid with historical borders of countries that attempted to establish themselves.  Many of these countries were never fully recognized, or lasted less than a handful of years.  We like to think of ourselves as, "One Nation" but that has never been the case.  Ignoring that fact makes achieving actual unity that much harder to reach.

This last election was particularly nerve-wracking for me, and seeing the cracks in our Union reminded me that our history isn't a seemless glossy story.  I have also finally nailed down the tricks to drawing a map of the states:
1) Start with Texas and work outwards
2) F*ck New England
3) New York will be whatever shape is left over.
4) Do NOT count
Seriously though, I don't want to draw the states again, they're extremely frustrating.
